Newspaper

In the centennial history of Motor Sich JSC  the factory newspaper, which is now also known as ‘Motor Sich’, has played a significant role.
It was launched as a wall paper in the mid 20s of last century and right after it sprang into immediate popularity. Soon there emerged a necessity in publishing a newspaper. The first factory newspaper Rod was published by  the printing house Kommunar once a week. In 1929, it became known as ‘For defense’ , and was issued on four pages six times a week.
During the Great Patriotic War, the newspaper carried on its duties. Editorial office along with the factory facilities plant were evacuated to Omsk. Right after the duplicating facilities arrived, but there was nowhere to place it. Type cases and printing press Amerikanka were arranged in the room of about 20 square meters, situated in the reapir shop building near the test section.
Later on, the newspapers were printed in the regional printing house and shortly thereafter the factory printing-office was arranged.
During its existence, the newspaper was known by different names and had the following editorial history:

V.S. Voinik, newspaper editor from 1936 to 1939, and executive secretary Y. Bezdolny  perished in those Great Patriotic War years.
In the 60s of last century the factory newspaper Mechanician appeared on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Editorial mail  can serve some kind of a tuning fork of the newspaper popularity. Our readers determine the most favorite columns and materials. Fast response to any event in the social and political life of our country should be noted  as one more positive factor.
We are appreciated  for timely and qualified coverage of the issues on shareholding, taxation, credit, insurance, pension reform, payment for housing and public services.
Matters of the deputy corps command the greatest amount of space on the pages of our newspaper, namely articles concerning political problems of Ukraine's development and people's representatives’ activity reports.
Surely, topics on manufacturing prevail  in the news pages. Majority of  materials relates to the miscellaneous life of the Motor Sich JSC  employees. The following headings have already won    the recognition of the readership: ‘The 100th anniversary of the factory’, ‘The divisions of the plant’, ‘Focus on ...’, ‘Director’s speech’, ‘What's the word on young people ?’, ‘The world of your hobbies’, ‘Help yourself’, ‘Notes for parents’,‘Creativity of our readers’ ,‘Everyday History’, ‘Practical Tips’, ‘You are asked to tell’, ‘Horticulturist’, ‘In a world of interesting’ and many others.
The newspaper monthly supplement ‘Motorchik’  has become a unique school for young journalists and great opportunity to make first steps in literature. Junior staff reporters of the monthly supplement  won many competitions, and some of them got into journalism. Each year a group of journalism students undergoes  practical training in the factory newspaper.
Motor Sich JSC is famed for its sports achievements. Therefore, almost each edition includes sport's round-up.
Factory  newspaper is past 80 . It has always been and continues to be the link between the management and the employees of the enterprise, honestly speaking about the problems, achievements and prospects of the plant. Even through the most hard times the newspaper remained adhered to its convictions. Currently, the newspaper is published on  eight pages twice a week, and its circulation runs up to  3770 copies. The creative team carries on the traditons of its predecessors,  and does everything possible for the newspaper to be among the best in town.
